Our Team

VETERINARIANS

Together our Veterinarians have over 50 years of experience that they bring to each case. This vast wealth of knowledge and experience is what we’ve come to be known and appreciated for at Clinton Veterinary Clinic

Nathan Eslick, DVM, Clinic Owner

Dr. Nathan Eslick has practiced veterinary medicine at Clinton Veterinary Clinic since 2009. Originally from Dayton, Iowa, Dr. Eslick attended Iowa State University and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. His professional interests include dermatology, ultrasonography, radiography, and companion animal general medicine. Dr. Eslick’s surgical interests include treating simple fractures, ACL injuries, Hip Dysplasia, and general soft tissue surgery. Dr. Eslick enjoys spending time with his wife, three kids, the family’s dog, two cats, and flock of chickens. He also likes to tinker with computers, spend time outdoors, is a member of his church’s music team, and plays in the River City Municipal Band.

Carolyn Kemmerer, DVM

Dr. Carolyn Kemmerer has practiced veterinary medicine at Clinton Veterinary Clinic since 2015. Originally from Minnesota, she earned her bachelor’s degrees in Animal Science and Spanish at Iowa State University. She completed her veterinary training at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Kemmerer enjoys practicing preventative medicine and the challenges of internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. While not at work, Dr. Kemmerer enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and three dogs.

Scott Aman, DVM

Dr. Scott Aman, who used to be a registered medical technologist for many years, has been a veterinarian since graduating from Iowa State Veterinary College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Before Clinton Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Scott practiced in Minnesota and Illinois as a mixed animal veterinarian....focusing on all of the barnyard animals as well as dogs and cats. Whether there was a calf who needed to be pulled (from a cow), a horse who needed her teeth floated, or a cat who needed a leg splinted, Dr. Scott was available at all hours of the day and night. But now, Dr. Scott is focusing on dogs and cats (only) which is physically less demanding for him but just as interesting as a goat with belly ache. All kidding aside, Dr. Scott has seen plenty of dogs and cats in many different scenarios and would enjoy seeing your small fury friends as well. On a personal note, Dr. Scott has been married over two decades to his wife Andrea who is originally from a farm in central Iowa. They don’t have any kids, but they have made a commitment over the years to care for their elderly parents as well as other elderly family and friends. PS. Dr. Scott and Andrea have a fur baby named 'Bernie' who they can't stop talking about.

Katrina Hurst, DVM

Dr. Katrina Hurst has been a veterinarian since 2021, when she graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Although born in Chicago, Katrina’s dream to become a veterinarian started in Wisconsin; where, at the age of 5, she acquired a knack for coaxing feral cats into her family’s home in Lake Geneva.

Prior to Clinton Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Katrina spent three years in the north woods of Wisconsin developing interests in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, urgent care, and dentistry. In her free time, Katrina enjoys working with her significant other, Ben, on his grain farm, mountain biking, trail running, bicycle touring, cross country skiing, and camping. Katrina and Ben share their home with two dogs, two cats, and an ever fluctuating, yet largely unknown, number of seasonal critters.
