Our Veterinary Team

The team at Clinton Veterinary Clinic believes our most important job is to help you make the best decisions for your pet. Clinton Veterinary Clinic Doctors are licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Iowa and Illinois. They are all members of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association. Doctors are required by law to keep their knowledge up to date by regularly attending meetings where up to date information is taught.

Our doctors are also accredited by the US Department of Agriculture to write health papers for your pet’s overseas travel.

Dr. Nathan Eslick has practiced veterinary medicine at Clinton Veterinary Clinic since 2009. Originally from Dayton, Iowa, Dr. Eslick attended Iowa State University and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. His professional interests include dermatology, ultrasonography, radiography, and companion animal general medicine. Dr. Eslick’s surgical interests include treating simple fractures, ACL injuries, Hip Dysplasia, and general soft tissue surgery. Dr. Eslick enjoys spending time with his wife, three kids, the family’s dog, two cats, and flock of chickens. He also likes to tinker with computers, spend time outdoors, is a member of his church’s music team, and plays in the River City Municipal Band.

Dr. Carolyn Kemmerer has practiced veterinary medicine at Clinton Veterinary Clinic since 2015. Originally from Minnesota, she earned her bachelor’s degrees in Animal Science and Spanish at Iowa State University. She completed her veterinary training at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Kemmerer enjoys practicing preventative medicine and the challenges of internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. While not at work, Dr. Kemmerer enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and three dogs.

Dr. Matthew Lundquist, originally from Harcourt, Iowa, completed his undergraduate degree at Iowa State University in Animal Science with a minor in Agronomy in 2014. He went on to earn his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State in 2018 alongside his wife, Katie, who is also a veterinarian. He started at Clinton Vet Clinic in June 2018. Dr. Lundquist and Katie welcomed their first child, Reece, on December 29, 2018. He enjoys golfing, cheering on the Cyclones, and spending time with his family and pets (two dogs, two horses, and six kitties).

Dr. Jane Leigh has practiced veterinary medicine at Clinton Veterinary Clinic since 1984. Originally from Low Moor, Iowa, Dr. Leigh attended Iowa State University and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and behavior. In her spare time, Dr. Leigh enjoys outdoor activities, especially kayaking, and her two dogs.
